I have about 8 domains I use for email, its hosted on a friends cpanel based server which is not working that well because things keep getting blocked etc.

I have them all but one set up as aliases so the mailboxes work across all of those domains, so richard@any of them gets to me.

Whats somewhere decent, I can move them to that doesnt want to charge me a totally seperate cost for each domain. can google or microsoft have multiple domains going into a single set of mailboxes?

Office 365 will allow multiple domains & aliases. As long as mail goes to one mail box, then is charged as one user. You can also have shared mailboxes.

Google Apps will also allow you domain aliases, where user@example.com and user@example2.com will be sent to the same mailbox.

Office 365 is perfect for this.

Just have one paid user and then you can have a bunch of 'shared mailboxes' for your other domians. I use it to cater for .co.nz and .nz. They can be maintained as totally separate mailboxes or just set forwarding rules.

I've just started using 25mail.st which is run by the Rimu Hosting people. If you only have one mailbox you'd fall under their free plan. They don't charge extra for extra domains or aliases.

Not much storage though, and pretty pricy storage. I am of course comparing to providers such as gmail, yahoo, live mail etc.

Go with Google Apps, $6 per month per mail box but it's worth it.

If it's sub 25 users you can purchase the free google apps domains on ebay. And you're away.

If you user Outlook on desktop, then definitely go the 365 route. It's a great product.
