Having problems, have changed the A Records on Iserves hosting, and the new weebly website appeared but keeps disappearing with the old one coming up. When I spoke to Orcon hosting they said the A Record was all I had to change prior to Easter, but there must be something else. Any suggestions.

I looked at the domain name on dnc.org.nz and the record correctly point to the iserve's own NS. Also doing a nslookup it correctly points to the weebly servers as per the image you posted.

If you go to https://www.whatsmydns.net/#A/mapuaferry.co.nz you will see this is the IP address as seen by DNS around the world.

My guess that the old IP address is cached in your PC and your router. This will expire in a few minutes and you should be able to access the domain on its new address.

My suggestion? Restart your PC and your router, go have a coffee and try again in a few minutes.

If it is still showing the old one for you then it could be the Orcon DNS not being updated (if you access the Internet via Orcon).

In this case you can test by using running the NSLOOKUP command:

- Find the Orcon DNS address
- open a command prompt
- NSLOOKUP mapuaferry.co.nz [Orcon DNS address]

If the reply is not the correct IP then contact Orcon and ask to talk to someone about their DNS not updating (or someone from Orcon might contact you here).

I see what's going on... www.mapuaferry.co.nz and mapuaferry.co.nz have different IP addresses.

Double check the records to make sure they all point to the same address (*, @ and www)

under the A records they are all currently pointing to the same weebly address 199.34.228.59. Originally when I first updated it though I did use another weebly IP address, which didn't seem to work so I deleted it, and updated with this 199.34.228.59

Do I need to do anything with the CNAME records.

You don't need to update the CNAME record - although moving to Weebly means these aren't valid for anything now.

Make sure www, * and @ are all pointing to the same one and at the bottom click the button "Schedule Reload".

Because the TTL is 3600 it means it may take up to one hour for the records to expire. Also the "reload" on iServe may take some time, it's not an instant action.

Zone File Manager

You are currently managing the DNS Zone file for:

mapuaferry.co.nz

IMPORTANT
Changing the details below can considerably alter the way this Domain is served.
After you have finished modifying individual records, you will need to press the button at the bottom of the page to schedule a RELOAD of our DNS servers with the updated details.

I need to find the Zone file Manager for the www.mapuaferry.co.nz, would that be where the domain was registered? As it appears I have only changed the addres for mapua.ferry.co.nz

You only manage the domain (mapuaferry.co.nz). WWW is a subdomain and you manage in the same place - the WWW A Record is the one where you enter address for www.mapuaferry.co.nz

Thanks for your help, much appreciated. If it doesn't update correctly will speak to Orcon after easter.
