Looking for an app/package (iOS or web based) that will handle visitor AND employee check in/out in our building.

We have an in-house developed one that pulls in employee info from a database but as it happens, the day after the dev was made redundant, the system stopped updating from the database.

I've seen ones such as "Envoy" but all are aimed purely at visitors and not employees..... we want employees checking in/out so we know who is about, and if there is a fire alarm we can grab the tablet on the way out get a better idea if anyone is missing etc.

Any suggestions ?

TIA

Hire the dev back at contractor rates :-) 10x pay rise for him :-)

Whos on location is a NZ developed piece of software which I am currently trialling and find it very good.

We use this too and it is very simple to set up and use. Just an HP touchscreen desktop pointing to the who's on location website.  It just starts up, logs in with a local account and then launches IE with the -k switch which uses their website as its homepage.
Only thing is if you need name printing onto labels, check the list of supported label printers beforehand, it only supports a few from memory.

+1 for Whos on location, i sign in with it every morning and night, seems to do the trick for 40 odd staff and 20+ visitors each day

Took at this at home last night, seems interesting, but one issue - requires Win 8.1+.  Guess Ill be waiting another month or so for 10 before I can take a look :)

Several sites that i have attended have used a system supplied by VisTab (www.vistab.co.nz)

It is based on a monthly/yearly fee which may or may not work for you, but is quite a tidy system and allows web reporting etc in realtime.
