Why not just pay a subscription for it using Office 365? It's $13.00 per month if you buy a year so $156 total.

Thanks guys, the online subscription is not an option for the client. I know it would make more sense.

US prices do not include any taxes. $433 + 15% = NZ$500 which is still $200 cheaper than paying NZ version's price so yes you are right. What the hell.

Do whatever you want to do man.

Could be how Opex and Capex are dealt with. I had a client that the Board decided subscription would Opex and "buying" Capex and made it a task and a half to get past the bean counters. Crazy I know
as the bottom line is it comes from the same pot anyway

this is what I pointed to

Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider program

The CSP program allows you to sell Microsoft cloud services along with your own offerings and services. Partners own the complete customer lifecycle through direct billing, provisioning, management, and support.

In addition, the CSP program enables you to:
Create a customer offer, set the price, and own the billing terms.
Integrate service offerings with Microsoft cloud services.
Stay at the center of the Microsoft cloud customer lifecycle.
