I'm struggling to pick which Office 365 sub I need and even which are available to me. MS seem to like making it hard to find out the specifics.
I see there is a small business option, but it appears to be renewal only.

I'm trying to drag this company into the modern era, but there has been a little kicking, and some muffled screams.

I need Office on one PC right now, with the probability of it becoming 7-10 (assuming they don't get spooked by some phantom problem).

I'd like to be able to add another machine quickly

I have no need for hosted exchange or cloud storage at this point in time, or the foreseeable future.

Someone please learn me.

If you just want the Office software and not hosted Exchange, the Office 365 Business plan (or Office 365 ProPlus if you need Microsoft Access) is what you need. Details here:

Why would I go for a business plan over a home one? Home is a LOT cheaper.
Is it against T's & C's? I cant find any to read.

You'll probably find the licence for the home one won't be valid as soon as you start using it for 'commercial' purposes. Certainly was the case with the EULA for previous versions of MS Products

The valid comparison is Office 365 Business (13.50/month) and Office 365 Home ($16.00/month).

I'm not sure about the licensing fine print (a quick Google search indicates it's for non-commercial use only), but if you are entitled to use Office 365 Personal/Home in a business environment, the downside is you can't manage all your licenses under one account. Each copy would require its own Microsoft account, so you'd have to keep track of individual accounts/passwords.

You cannot use Home version for commercial use, they must be used by a household only. In any case there are different services that are included, not least of which is the ability install the Office client on upto 5 devices for user, do they want to run on a Mac at home, as well as a ipad, a Windows tablet and a Desktop!

If the company want's a custom domain, managed by O365, with Exchange online and have a 50GB mailbox, have access to mail on the go, OWA, Mobile connectivity? Shared Calendar/Contacts/Tasts, use 1TB of online storage with OneDrive for Business, and collaborate on documents with coworkers, plus use Skype for Business for Voice/Video Web conferencing. Then they are better to go with Office365 Business Premium.

Thanks folks. Got a business sub.

I'm a bit annoyed that the low level business versions don't include access. But that's the way it goes I suppose.

You and me both. Customers that were on the discontinued Midsize Business plan (includes Access) now have to pay a whole lot more for an Enterprise plan when their subscription comes up for renewal.

I know it's off topic and possible a swear word in that office, but using Google Apps for Work Unlimited for the last year has been life changing. I honestly don't know how you could go back to using anything else after making the change, and its only $10 per month per user.

I have used google apps for business at work, I did so for 3-4 years. I found it to be a frustrating experience.
