Occasionally I get Google notifications that are meant for someone else - eg "New sign-in from iPad".

Say my email address is fredsmith@gmail.com, the email address in the body of this email is smithjones23@gmail.com. However the "to" that the email actually gets sent to is my fredsmith email. This seems like a bug with Google. Anyone else had this?

I did see a link at the bottom of the email that says "disconnect your email address from this account" and did that, but no idea how it got connected to start with.

Probably phishing emails with fake links?

I'm a geek, a gamer, a dad, a Quic user, and an IT Professional. I have a full rack home lab, size 15 feet, an epic beard and Asperger's. I'm a bit of a Cypherpunk, who believes information wants to be free and the Net interprets censorship as damage and routes around it. If you use my Quic signup you can also use the code R570394EKGIZ8 for free setup. Opinions are my own and not the views of my employer.

Nope, checked that, definitely links to Google.
