I am curious to find out if anyone interested in Android Development.  I have been playing around with the Android Development Platform on Eclipse and Linux and so far I like what I see.  I found J2ME to be way too babyish and really lacked some features from the full J2SE that made it hard to work with at times.  I think where Android is going to take off is performance! I think most J2ME developers considered at one time or another switching to Symbian as the VM is so damn slow to do anything useful.

Is anyone else working on Android and/or generally interested in this platform or mobile development in general ?

I've had a play around with the environment and emulator, and being a Java developer I was going to have a go at writing some small things. But my paying job as a developer means that I wasn't motivated out of hours.

I was bvery pleased to see a serious API, and especially pleased to see that it was in Java, but these things take time, and a good business plan to make money out of them.

Good luck!
