I have a few Keybase.io invites available. Ask below or via PM and I flick an invite. Also the KBFS (Keybase File System) is now in public alpha and binaries are available.

Don't think I would be ok with trusting them with my private key, but interesting initiative.

I am assuming you don't give them your private key, because that would be silly.

According to this article that is exactly what you do.

It may seem odd to store the private key—the one you must be careful about securing—on a remote server. But Keybase protects it with a passphrase—like a password, but longer. Whenever you use its site—or, in the future, apps from Keybase itself or third parties—the encrypted private key is retrieved and only decrypted locally when the passphrase is entered.

I have not looked at how the process of the private key is, but if you actually upload it to their server for them to encrypt, that could allow someone to snap it up.

Seems that is optional, however.  I doubt it's central to the working of the system as I know several very paranoid people who use keybase.io and no way would they be uploading their private key anywhere.

Given that I only have to upload a public key, I would be interested. :)

The following is the dialogue for the option to upload a client encrypted private key -

Keybase can also store a client-encrypted copy of your private key.

This is not mandatory, but it lets you decrypt and sign in the browser. It also lets the keybase command line client sync your private key. For safety, the Keybase servers never see your passphrase, even during login, and therefore cannot decrypt your private key.

I have installed the latest binary and have the KBFS (public and private folders) working on three of my machines. Here is my public folder HTML page and here is my public folder.
