Hi there

 

I'm not a MAC guy, but..

 

2 Win Pro pcs were upgraded to Win10 pro
After the upgrade , the RDP from 2 MAC's to both PC's doesnt work
RDP from a Win PC to those Win10 PC's does work without issue

 

Has anyone come across this issue & have a fix
Do the MAC's need a new RDP client ? It worked up untill the ug to 10 .

Have you checked the windows firewall settings on the upgraded machines?

 

I would try RDPing from one Windows machine to the other...  it's likely not just an sisue from the Mac.

On the Win 10 machines have you tried turning off the "Allow connections only from computers running Remote Desktop with Network Level Authentication" option, In System properties Remote tab.

Yes it is a issue ONLY with the MACs
I did RDP from a WinXP pc onto that Win10 PC : straight in, no issues . So its not a firewall issue (RDP works if its a Win PC, but not a MAC trying to connect)

Probably just need to download Microsoft Remote Desktop from the Mac App store - I'm guessing user might have Remote Desktop 2.1.1 or similar which comes with Office 2011 - and wouldn't support SSL required by new RDP. Don't think it can be downloaded other than from the App Store

Yeah RDP is now a pain in the butt.

 

The one on the store only supports OS X 10.10 and above

 

You can't get the older version from Microsoft (version 8.0.5) which will work with older versions of OSX anymore either.

 

So to get RDP you have to have an iTunes account, OK if you only have one machine, but where I have over 200 and staff don't want to use

 

their iTunes account it becomes a BIG problem.

If you have an MDM solution (we use Meraki System Manager free) with Apples Volume Purchasing you'll be able to roll it out to all users without needing them to sign into iTunes, is my understanding.

 

May be possible through OS X server or Profile Manager or Device Configurator - can't remember where it sits
