HI,

I wanted to know how are the clickable newsletters created.

i received newsletters from Pbtech, and each item is clickable.

What software they use ?

Even i would like to create something like that instead of creating simple ones.

Any idea ?/

I am not sure what they use but customers of mine use Mailchimp. Nice thing about that is it will report on every click so you can see what people are most interested in.

You can create hyperlinks in many types of documents, e.g. PDF, Microsoft Office, email, etc

Even i use mailchimp, but that does not have any option to create such type like pbtech's newsletter.

You should be able to, you just need to know how to use it, as there is a lot you can do with it. You can also import your own HTML into it. I do professional campaigns for companies using mailchimp.

You have to remember that these companies are in the business of selling stuff. It is to their advantage that every click, intentional or accidental, leads back to a view of their site.

The email from these companies are all HTML based. Most modern email clients support HTML content. That means you can create your own. One way to do this in Outlook or a web based client is to select the text or image and click the little chain icon to create a hyperlink. You can generally also press Ctrl+K. Do that for every item until you are satisfied. If you right click these emails and select to view the source, you will notice that every link <href="http://..."> tag around it.

Ask for more if you want any additional info.

I once did that kind of stuff using Photoshop/Imageready it would generate the clickable web optimised slices + HTML.

Apparently that is done all within Photoshop these days.

In general you will need a graphics editor which supports an "image map" feature that slices images and generates the HTML for web.

Or you can cut up images paste them into a grid within a MC template. Also many of those types of emails aren't that mobile friendly.

it's and HTML document which is specifically coded for emails (using good old tables). Within that HTML there're images and anchor tags.

HTML for web and emails 2 different things as email clients are limited to support blocks, js, css, etc. There're ways around, but can be very complicated (I worked 4 years at digital agency as developer).

There're great SaaS available to make life easier, but still requires lot's of coding, testings to get 100% responsive emails across multiple platforms including outlook 2003/7/10 :)

And yup, I'm pleased I don't have to worry about emails for the past 2 years :D

I don't receive Pbtech's newsletter, but you should be able to create something similar using MailChimp.

Mailchimps templates pretty much does all that stuff for you, and has ways of testing them on different devices.

1) Make a big brochure or catalog as one image.

2) Cut it up into smaller images or Tiles

3) Make a table in an email

4) Insert the images into each table cell in the correct order
Set table border and margins to 0px thickness

5) Click on each image and add a hyperlink to wherever you want to send it.
