Hi,

My company in Auckland uses cloud based servers based in USA. and we experience alot of slow speed in the transactions due to maybe say uploads and other processes.

Will it make the speed faster if we move to having the servers here at my office ?

am i making any sense ?!?

There's probably more to consider here, and without getting into specifics, it's impossible to answer. I suggest you talk to some kind of consultant about your specific situation.

Moving from the USA to New Zealand or Australia will reduce the latency, and as a result increase bandwidth to the servers. Can't say for sure if it'll help as the problem needs investigation - servers could be slow, badly configured, have slow or old software.

Moving them to your office is a whole new problem, buying hardware, hosting your servers, UPS and cooling, etc. AWS / Azure / local hosting is better than owning your own IMHO.

Of course it would ...

BUT

You will have to buy, run and support all the services & equipment your current supplier provides. For example:

the server(s)
the air conditioning,
uninterruptible power supply - perhaps a backup generator
system and data backups

You would probably better off

buying more bandwidth, and
trying to either run your "uploads and other processes" when your main transaction load is not running, or applying Quality of Service so that the transactional traffic gets higher priority.

Seems to me like your company might need to get some contracting services to sort out your IT infrastructure, this isn't an area where amateur dabbling usually ends well

Can you provide more information about what is running on the servers, how many there are and how you use them? How many people are accessing etc.? More details please!

It depends on what you're doing with the servers, how good your internet connection is, who the servers are hosted with and how good *their* internet connection is...

Either divulge your company's internal business matters here, or get a consultant...

yes we did get some consultants to assess the situation.

Problem seems to be running to many scripts. maybe

If there's a "maybe" you hired the wrong consultant. If the problem is scripts then moving it to your office won't help much.
