I'm looking for a super simple Wordpress theme.

All I need to capture is name and email address.

Looking and looking, but finding it hard.

Any help if much appreciated.

(I'm not a programmer/developer/designer, so important that it's simple and easy to use)

This is pretty basic https://wordpress.org/themes/simple-bootstrap/

https://murfy.nz/ is a live site using it. You could just have one static page with contact form 7 plugin or whatever.

Yeah Simple Bootstrap is a very good theme for this sort of thing.

I've built an example at https://murfy.nz/information-capture-test/ for you to check out. Took me around 5min.

Using:
- Simple Bootstrap (Wordpress Theme)
- Custom Contact Forms (Here)
- ReCapacha API (easy to add into the contact form)

The contact form can be set to just simply capture or to email one or multiple email addresses on a submission with a custom email template. I'd recommend also ensuring your Wordpress site uses SSL by default.

Thanks.
What I'm trying to achieve is basically just to have a background image and a logo.
And then have a form (insert name and email) above the background.
Nice, stylish form with round edges etc.

Basically, insert name and email. Hit submit.

I keep my site as simple as possible but yes you can have custom backgrounds with it. There are many options you can edit. Going with a Bootstrap theme means it'll work on any device no problems.

I have a basic HTML page plus an embedded MailChimp signup form here that might look like what you're describing:
https://traveltalk.nz/comingsoon

Why does it have to be WordPress? And what is the form for?

If it's a mail list signup, then MailChimp + some HTML is great, but Contact Form 7+WP is good if it's a sales lead form or something.

Wordpress seems like overkill, as you have to do updates and such, they it can be mostly automated. Mailchip or similar seems much more appropriate.

How about using one of the online website builders.
Something like this template from weekly
https://www.weebly.com/themes/merch-theme/214151854891970659

All editing done via a Web browser, just drag and drop and edit. That template is basically an RSVP Page that let's you type a name and email address. You can change/remove all the excess windows dressing. If you don't mind the url then it's free as well.

I'm no good at HTML. Is it possible to create what you've done with drag and drop?

You're probably on to something. Wordpress might be a bit of an overkill.

So it would be possible to create something like this (like ajobbins linked to - https://traveltalk.nz/comingsoon) ?

I'll give it a go later tonight then.

It's all client side code, so just view source and steal it and change as necessary :) (As the author, you have my permission).

Just make sure you replace our MailChimp (or whatever) code, logo etc with your own - I probably don't want your signups on my mailing list.

Edit - and my google analytics tracking.

If you get stuck, let me know and I can probably send you a sanitised version of the code as a base to start with.

Sorry, saw this one second to my previous reply. Drag and drop I can't help with, I whipped that up in about 15 mins, but I know enough HTML and CSS to get the job done.

Can you be any more specific about what it's for? I might be able to send you some code to load up with some simple instructions to link to the image/logo etc you want.
