hi all,

We are looking at getting stuck in to a project that will require VM's in a VMware environment. I've used ESXi at home (although recently swapped to Proxmox which I find really awesome just from a 'mucking around' perspective) for ages but really I don't know much about it what so ever.

Once we do get in to it we will involve a consultant when coming up with the final production design, but I just don't want to go to that expense without some basic knowledge of things.

So just looking for recommendations on places to read up on VMware. Best practice host configurations, storage models, networking, backups etc. The storage stuff is something I really want to understand better. There are so many forums and opinions around its hard to figure out what is noise and what isn't.

Thanks in advance!

Sam
