A bit of back story first, we have a ML350 Gen 9 server and I have just purchased a T1000 G4 UPs unit for it, it was running on a APC 3KVA UPS but it seemed to cause issues for some reason.

My god HP's enterprise website is a complete nightmare, what a mission to download the software for the UPS. I ended up having to sign up for an account and before it would let me download anything. Afterwards I thought I've gone to all of this trouble why not register both devices, after searching for 10 mins how to do this and not getting anywhere I gave up.

Whoever designed the HPE website needs to pick a different career because its absolutely horrific to navigate...

Rant over!

Have a good day :-)

I agree that having to register to download the UPS software is a PITA.

Yes, it is the same for the Proliant Support Packs. You have to register, add the product (if you are lucky that the vendor who sold the gear have not done it before) and at the end you can finally download it.

It is also a nightmare with the locked down browsers and proxies on the servers, so I usually start the download on my notebook and copy the URL.

But their search also seem to give quite random results.

The HP home/small bus website is just as bad.
using HP's search on their site can give zero hits even for current PCs/notebooks

HP Ent/server downloads: HP made a change so you cant download Bios upgrades when its out of warranty/care pack

with one server, downloaded & installed new Raid firmware. Server now no longer loads the OS
Turns out the the servers older firmware is compatible with the new Raid firmware.
Zero warning from HP about this (only found out via forums) . Server is out of warranty, so cant get the bios ug unless spend $$$ on carepack
frown

Lesson here, dont risk any drv or firmware updates on servers out of warranty.
