OK. I'm not complaining but I have no spam arrive in my gmail junk folder since the 4th of May (now four days). There are 2,500 emails currently in there (which is around 80 a day) so would have expected some.

Has something changed in the last few days?

Cheers, Matt.

It always annoyed me at the emails that end up in the spam folder, they're such obvious spam I can't understand why Google don't block those outright

Maybe they're like, look at how good our spam filter is we'll show you by putting it into the spam folder..

Then you'll get 1 or 2 complaining why someone sent them an email but it hasn't come through. I guess better safe than sorry i.e better they all go in spam folder and automatically delete themselves after x number of days rather than go straight to permanently deleted.

Just looked at my Spam folder and see one saying that my good mate Rick died and left me $8mil but apart from that nothing. I've noticed spam has been dropping off lately.

Used to get the old "Invest in this company" spam or eager girls thinking I am fat and linking me to a site to buy diet pills.

Heh, I used to do the antispam at a previous large NZ mobile telephone company. I once received an angry email from one of the developers working on the new Certificate Authority - you know, the crown jewels of the organisation's security hierarchy, compromise it and get root on everything etc. etc. - who was annoyed that I had marked the important email from his bank at westpac.com.nz as phishing spam and demanded I allow it through.
