We have a lot of staff that work in areas with little to no infrastructure globally. We are looking to use JAMF Pro Cloud Hosted to deploy software/keep track of encryption status/updates on the Mac's, so pretty sorted there.

What we don't have is an equivalent for Windows. SCCM is the obvious one here, but because we don't have infrastructure in all places (some users arn't even AD bound), I'm not really sure it's quite the right tool. I more need something with an agent that checks in over the internet back to a cloud/hosted server to advise on machine status/Windows updates status etc.

We are using a mixture of Windows 7/10 Pro (No Enterprise so can't do DirectAccess). I'd prefer to avoid the requirement of VPN.

Any one know of anything?

Microsoft Intune could be an option for you.

Maybe PDQ also.

Have a look at Kaseya (www.kaseya.com) and Connectwise Automate (www.labtechsoftware.com) .... Both have a cloud option with Agents

I prefer Connectwise ;-)

Looked at whether Cisco Meraki Systems Manager can do anything like what you're after?
