Hi.

Different documentation states different things, and I am a little confused.

Should WAC support being installed on 2012 R2 Hyper-V Core? When I try and install it says not supported, but I do see some people say online they are managing HV-C with it? Maybe they are doing it in an unsupported manner I guess?

@nathan ?

I'm pretty sure you can remotely manage 2012 R2 Hyper-V with it, but you an only install it on a proper server with Desktop Experience.

Windows Admin Center runs in a web browser and manages Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows 10, and more through the Windows Admin Center gateway installed on Windows Server 2016 or Windows 10. The gateway manages servers by using Remote PowerShell and WMI over WinRM. The gateway is included with Windows Admin Center in a single lightweight .msi package that you can download.

The issue was that WMF 5 (5.1) wasn't installed on the server I was trying to manage. I misunderstood, and though the admin center had to be on both the remote and local to communicate.

I have to say, it's been a while since MS made me happy with a new product, there is usually plenty to complain about. WAC is amazing.
