Att Moderators If this is not the right locale for this please move.

Over the last few days I have noticed that when accessing Google Photos in browser it is taking a very long time for the imagaes to start displaying and I have grey squares for a looooooooooooooong time. My Library is not huge at around 150,000 images. I am on a 900+ UFB connection.

This is occuring over various browsers ( Edge, Chrome, Safari) and various devices. On all devices I have cleared caches etc and turned of extensions etc and the slowness continues. It can take from 10 to 30 minutes to display the library.

Any ideas folks?

Move to the forum of your isp.

No issues here, even on wifi with an iPhone where I can spin down to a photo from any year and it loads near instantly. Orcon.

I have just checked the Google Photos Apps on my iPad and Note 8 and the photos load as normal. These devices are connected to the same network as the PCs using browsers. If I use the browser on the iPad and the Note the loading is painfully slow.

If it is a Spark issue what would I be asking them?

Are you using Spark's DNS servers?

@sbiddle Yes I am, I don’t mess them as it usually causes more issues than it solves

I have tried loading Google Photos in browser using 4G and get the same result. It takes an eternity to load.

Very snappy with me (serious). 3 Seconds to a full pageload on 2degrees UFB for photos.google.com (on my Chromebook) and snappy to browse. I've got 5+ years worth of photos in it too.

It actually sort of sounds like a MTU issue on your end.

What is your MTU set as on your Edgerouter + have you got MSS clamping enabled?

MTU is set at 1492 which I believe is the default. On my Router I cannot see any settings for MSS Clamping

OK I jumped in the car and took my laptop around to a family members abode, connected to their Network when I try to load Google Photos in Browser the same thing happens the loading is painfully slow, after 40 minutes I surrendered. The only photos that display reletively quickly are those taken in teh last few days and even then they take a good 10 minutes to display.
