...only to get no support.

Client has NZ developed application and having issues with it. So I Google it, find a matching domain with the software name. Read the info on the site, "yup, this seems like the right bunch", so email them.

Get response "No, its not us, you want xyz in abc" - response came back from a completely different domain totally unrelated to the software. So why do you have a domain with the name, and have all the software info on your website yet you claim you're not even tied up in that sector...... whatever.

So find the xyz in abc, send email to their publicized inquiries email address.

"Thanks for your e-mail. I am currently on leave until Friday 30th Decemeber."

SERIOUSLY ??? On an inquiries address ?

Did find a support email address so sent email to that, no response as yet, but at least its better than "go away until the new year". I think.

I know us Kiwis are lax and all, but really.... :)

Does the organisation rely on this software for day-to-day business?

Is this a software as a service app subscription? Or just a onetime download price?

GZT - Heh probably is, but Im hoping not and someone gets back to me :-p

MF - Yeah, its one of their core apps.

Matt - One time.

Not much I can do though, if clients want to buy a lesser known package, its what happens. There is a work around thats being used at the moment but theyd rather be using it properly :)

Sorry to be the one but a core  app should have a LSA or emergency contact, surely?

I guess the morale of the story is you get what you pay for. Bean counters love to treat support like an unrequired addon.
