Hi,

Recently I subscribed for Tesltraclear PDQ 10gig plan and everything works great except that I am not able to connect to my office VPN. I am able to connect to my office VPN using my vodem in the same computer, but using Telstraclear connection. Tried to call the customer care but the waiting time given to me is 40 mins, cant hold the telephone for 40 mins Embarassed

Can anybody help me here? I have checked all my firewall settings, and also switched off the firewall. But I am not able to connect to my office VPN at all.

Thanks

Regards,
Chaks

not much help -but can I suggest you send them an email via their helpdesk.Use this link:

https://telstraclear.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/telstraclear.cfg/php/enduser/ask.php

You can expect a reply within 2-3 days.

ps.  I have a VPN connection to my works network from home.  Have no problems.

pps. Are you using a router?  What is the brand/model?I could be wrong with this assertion (not exactly an expert on this subject!) but I suspect your router needs to be capable of supporting a VPN connection.

As per this link

http://kbserver.netgear.com/kb_web_files/N100858.asp

If the router doesn't support VPN passthrough the VPN traffic will be broken by your router.

Another very good (and easy to understand) read on the subject of
VPN vs VPN passthrough capable routers:

http://www.smallbusinesscomputing.com/webmaster/article.php/3501436

Assuming you have a VPN client running on your desktop/laptop all you need is a router with passthrough capabilities.

Quidam, thanks a lot! You saved my day :)

It was indeed the router and not telstraclear. The router had VPN settings disabled. Thanks a lot!

To Moderators : Can this thread be moved from this forum as this is not telstraclear problem :). Thanks.
