I work for a small company in the product team and a part of my role is product testing of our Saas software.

To date our tests are very manual and time intensive and so my main goal now is to mature our testing strategy to try get some more automated testing done especially when it comes to browser and responsive design testing.

If anyone in the Auckland or Christchurch area has some good experience with this I'd be keen to have a chat with you with the potential to engage with one or more people on a contract hourly basis to help us on this journey.

Looking forward to hearing from anyone!

Tommy

Worth checking out Testcafe as we have had a lot of success using it for functionally testing a site we run.

https://mherman.org/blog/functional-testing-with-testcafe/

The issue you will face is you need to rebuild a good portion of the functionality into a completely separate tool most probably in a different language to validate that the main site is doing what it should.

Having someone proficient in configuring and driving your test tool takes a lot of time, and then you will need to maintain it. And if you're small and "the person who does the test tool" leaves then you will be stuck with having to train someone else.

Developers hate writing test scripts but the best approach is to force everyone to learn how to drive the test tool so when they write code they also need to write an integration test.

YMMV but I think it should be the responsibility of everyone to make sure automated testing works.
