So I've noticed a lot of legitimate emails are going straight to junk, despite me right-clicking the emails and selecting Not Junk, and clicking "trust mail from this domain". Some even include emails that I just replied to, the reply from that (sender's email or domain name hasn't changed) going straight to Junk!

Am using Microsoft Outlook 2016 for desktop, and have no rules set to move mail to Junk!

Has anybody noticed this issue? It's getting pretty annoying to have to keep checking and moving emails from the Junk folder to Inbox.

Hosted exch, 365, outook.com, imap , pop3 or gmail ?

It could be moved to junk at the server side of things , depending on what you have etc.
Some Av's built in spam filtering might be moving email to junk

Check with webmail BEFORE opening Outlook .

As above... I was going to ask if you have any local AV with anti-spam features... Also the hosting may be doing this on the server side, depending on your service.

I've been having the same problem for the last month, so some are going to junk and some are going in inbox from exactly the same sender, I uninstalled my outlook account and reinstalled made no difference.
Can't understand why? when nothing has been changed that I have done, just one day it started happening!

The service is Outlook.com and no anti-spam AVs on. Just Windows Defender. Just looked on Outlook.com web mail and got an email from Air NZ in the junk folder. At the top it says this email was identified as spam... I'm guessing Microsoft have updated their spam filter to be extra aggressive?

Sender probably doesn't have SPF & DKIM configured correctly.

But how do some emails from the same sender get through?

Exactly the same problem here, also with outlook.com but only through the web interface and the mail app on the iphone. The weird thing is the email usually doesn't get sent to junk until a few hours after I've opened and read it.

I'll read an email, maybe reply to it, or mark it to follow up, or set it back to unread if I haven't had time to read it. Then later that day it'll have disappeared and be in my junk.

Happens multiple times each week.

Yes I get that too on Outlook.com, email messages initially appearing in Inbox then a few hours later automatically being moved to Junk. I've only had it happen to messages that are actual "uncaught" spam and some legitimate marketing lists I've subscribed to.

I have only come across it on the "consumer" Outlook.com and not Office 365 Outlook. I envisage there is a set period where messages may be moved to Junk but I do worry with the Junk folder being purged every 30? days. As far as "AI" and all that personal assistant functionality goes it comes across as a bit obnoxious.

I think my issue is a little bit different to you guys above here, in the sense that new email will miss the inbox completely and go straight to Junk despite their emails (exact same sender/s) previously appearing in Inbox first just fine. In other words, mine won't appear in Inbox, then automatically get moved to Junk without me specifying it to.

It's a bit of a PITA because now I have to remember to always check my Junk folder, a lot more frequently!

Anybody from Microsoft here able to take a look at their end by any chance please?

Just checked my Junk folder now, and even a Geekzone notification is appearing in there amongst all the others: Dominos, Air NZ.
