One of my personal domain users had their password breached, and someone used the email account to spam from. So this led to my domain being blacklisted. Not a problem, requested removal from blacklists and this was done after a few days - except Gmail.

Gmail STILL states my system has a low reputation. I was advised to sign up for their Postmaster tool, so did this and verified my domain with them.

They show my domain as being low reputation for the 2 days the breach wasn't noticed -  ONLY those 2 days - ie: Its still Oct 28th according to Google.

The other stats available, all show no reports of any issues against my domain.

So, I seem to be stuck in October with no hope of getting my domain being marked as reputable again with Gmail.........

Anyone else had to deal with this sort of issue with Gmail ?

I assume you have  SPF and DKIM setup for your domain? If not set that up as it *REALLY* helps, especially DKIM for email reputation with Google.

SPF enabled but not DKIM - was actually looking at that last week... guess I'll be doing that earlier than planned :)

You may also wish to look at DMARC. I haven't needed this to get reliable delivery to GMail (or at least nobody has complained about my messages ending up in the spam folder), but it may help with your overall reputation.

I was going to recommend DMARC as well as DKIM, but in the walk before you run... Once DKIM is sorted and working with effectively signed emails then sorting DMARC is do-able. I personally had a few issues with DMARC when I had a crack at setting it up, and found once DKIM was sorted I never had a problem again.
