Just wondering if anyone on here has used the Ubiquiti GPON products? I've got a site that would be perfect for a GPON deployment. The fibre part is easy for us, but just not sure on the OLT/ONT's.

As with everything Ubiquiti, it all looks very promising from the marketing spec sheet. But there is always a gotcha somewhere (generally software related) that mucks everything up.

Anyone got some feedback? Specifically on the OLT and ONT products - we won't utilise "UCRM" for customer management, but understand we should use "UNMS" for the management of the kit.

I've never played with it but know people who have. In the early days it was like many UBNT products - the hype and pretty pictures promised thigs that the real world could not deliver. From speaking to guys a few weeks ago in the US who have deployed it as a solution I think it's now a relatively stable product but the history of it has certainly meant many will never touch it.

If you want a reliable GPON solution go for Calix. They have a local reseller in NZ who can provide full support.
