Hi,

Does anyone kow how reliable the section of google analytics that shows which cities website traffic is coming from is?

Have been told google can show people who are actually from Dunedin as coming from Auckland or Wellington. If that's the case, is there another tool that does the job better than analytics?

Blair

PS: Apologies if this is posted in the wrong section - couldn't see where else to put it.

I think it's quite accurate, but we can't always be sure - companies are allocated a range of IP addresses and will distribute these where they are needed - how dynamicaly this is done can affect analytics such as Google and others.

I trust Google Analytics to be pretty close to the mark.

Thanks for that - it's pretty much what I suspected.
