Anyone who a recommendation on a small business payroll system, for about 5 Kiwis?
A previous company I worked for used "Ace Payroll" based on MYOB.

Hi, my wife who does small business accounting and has tried most payroll systems out there rates Smart payroll as one of the best. I should point out she loves Xero, but not the Xero payroll recons its lite on features.

If you use Xero, consider their integrated payroll.
I use and am a big fan of SmartPayroll. They do all the IRD reporting for us. Web based, so it can be done from anywhere. Smartphone app. Some Xero integration.

Referral links to services I use, really like, and may be rewarded if you sign up:
PocketSmith for budgeting and personal finance management. A great Kiwi company.
We use iPayroll and it's the easiest thing ever. All of our team are salaries and fixed hours so we have setup the auto payroll. Only need to login when approving leave etc or making a change to a staff member's details.
They take care of the IRD side as well as all the tax payments etc. Direct debits the total value of the pay from our account each pay run.

Yes - it is lite on features, and how it shows holiday pay is ... simplistic.
But all in one in XERO is handy, and works out cheaper than SmartPayroll.
It also does all the IRD filing for you.
Depends, If you're using XERO now, start with that - you can change at any time..
I've used https://www.thankyoupayroll.co.nz/ myself and found it easy and effective. Xero integrated.
Smart Payroll worked well for me when I had a few staff. It's very widely used by small business in NZ, it's been around a while so it's proven, and support is good.
Smart Payroll works for me
