WebSlice is becoming MyHost – new name, same us.

On Monday August 30, we’re going to be making some changes to WebSlice which will mean small changes to the system you access, as well as a new name and brand, MyHost.

Your websites and domains won’t be affected, but for a few hours from 11pm Monday August 30 your WebSlice control panel will be unavailable while we upgrade. Here’s a quick explanation of what’s changing and why.
You may (or may not) know that WebSlice is part of a family of New Zealand owned and operated companies. Our siblings include SiteHost, MyHost and Domains Direct, all run, maintained and supported by the same team, working with the same infrastructure.
Over the years we have grown to include more customers (like you), more team members and more brands. We’ve always wanted to offer professional, reliable hosting and support to as many New Zealand businesses as possible, and getting bigger has helped us do this. But growing a company can let complications build up. If we have to choose whether to spend our time maintaining servers and supporting customers, or maintaining different brands, the first option wins every time. So, after careful consideration, we’re simplifying our systems and consolidating two similar companies.

We’ll be retaining all of the WebSlice systems you’re used to but serving you under the MyHost brand (with a new look). This will require some changes but it’s important you know that nothing is changing hands here – it’s the same data centres, same hardware and same wonderful team behind both MyHost and WebSlice – we’re not going anywhere.

Now we have that out of the way let's talk about what will change for you:

•    You’ll see a new brand and website with WebSlice becoming MyHost.
•    Your hosting and cPanel systems will stay the same but you’ll login directly into WHMCS rather than through our website as you currently do.
•    Various emails and documents such as invoices will look a little different.

Just as important though is what’s not changing:

•    Your hosting and server will stay the same, as will your hosting plan and hosting pricing.
•    Domain pricing isn’t changing.
•    Everything else – this is mainly a branding change for you and we don’t expect any changes to your hosting or workflows.
We’re working hard to ensure this migration goes as smoothly as possible but we appreciate your patience and understanding. If you have any questions or concerns please get in touch and we will be happy to help.
