I'm having some trouble with this one.
If I were to create an Image object in java using this method: "Image text = createImage(160,215);", I would get an image with a background colour that matches the colour of the Component object tied to the main JFrame object. I've already tried setting the JFrame's background colour to a transparent one, but it seems to just ignore the alpha value.

So, basically, when I create an image, I get a blank grey image. What I want is a totally transparent Image.
I could set each pixel to be transparent, but that would slow things down too much.

I know there is a way to do this, can anyone share any code snippets?

Thanks for your help.
