I've seen this before, but can't for the life of me work out what this Cloud file storage/sharing program is,  that integrates directly into Windows File Explorer. This is a very much a magnified screen capture of the icon taken from File Explorer. Any help, much appreciated.

I'm migrating someone to a new laptop and they have Microsoft 365 for Business. Thought it may relate to that?

Pretty sure that is for Sharepoint backed storage that they might have access to.

That's what I wondered. Is there client I can download to enable it to be integrated?

The OneDrive client syncs SharePoint files to a desktop computer.

Sorry for being thick about this. The OneDrive client for business is installed and synching the same files as the old laptop did in OneDrive, but no sign of the Sharepoint files which are separately accessible from what looks like a Sharepoint client on the old (2016 vintage) laptop. There is an icon in File Explorer like the one I posted  above and have confirmed it is Sharepoint. Not sure how to replicate this on the new laptop? I can find the files by logging into the Sharepoint via the web.

Correct, this is the OneDrive for Business icon that sync's the SharePoint document library to the local PC.

  • On the old device, pay attention to which document libraries are sync'ed. Generally, you can see this from the folder inside this "icon". Better yet, look at the linked "accounts" in the OneDrive sync client (little blue cloud in System Tray next to the date/time). These linked "accounts" do not automatically transfer across.
  • On the new PC, after installing the OneDrive sync client & signing in with your M365 account, use your web browser to browse the document library of the relevant SharePoint sites. Click the 🔄 Sync button & follow the prompts to allow the OneDrive sync client to open.
  • The "Add shortcut to OneDrive" button in the document library does not create the OneDrive for Business icon in the 1st post. It simply creates a link to the SharePoint Document library

Thanks for the detailed explanation. I managed to fluke it last night, thankfully. 😁
