I'm trying to renew a domain name that expired this morning and am getting strange network issues with Metaname, which I've reported to them.

But on further digging, it appears as though this is a wider issue but I don't know where to go to find out a status update?

Domain searching on the DNC website is also not working, nor on SiteHost, or a couple of other domain registration sites.

Answering my own question... I found this page which has details of the outage: https://status.internetnz.nz/

Good stuff.

On the other hand, there's a reason why I put a calendar reminder for two weeks before a domain expires and renew it way ahead of time (similarly for certificates).

Yeah - completely my fault. I had auto-renew turned on in Metaname, but had forgotten to top up my account, despite the numerous reminders from them about it...

Full credit to Metaname btw - they responded to my support email on a Sunday pretty promptly, and then added a status message to the account dashboard.
