I am writing an article for a NZ national paper celebrating some of New Zealand's longest running computer software systems.

If anyone can point me towards a still-in-use computer system that originated in the 1960s, 1970s, or 1980s, then please let me know.

Big company, small company, mainframe, mini, or micro, all is fine.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Contact MTA(Motor Trade Association) / Auxo Software,
and see if their MIDAS Dealer Management software is still running at any sites.
(I know it was getting phased out, but there could still be some laggards....)

Originally developed by Dave Hendl, under Systime Computer Company Ltd.

See https://seamssystems.com.au/

It's Australian now, and has been redeveloped several times. I imagine only the name is what survives from the 1980s.

The health payments system that was in RNZ this morning is one of those, and you wonder why it is so costly to replace…
