I gotta ask the obvious question - recall likely means the touch sensor can be triggered without touching it... Anyone know how?
I've seen this type of exit button a lot, so I'm guessing a bunch of installers likely have a huge headache coming down the pipe....

Just guessing here - something like a bright/focused torch or laser pointer perhaps?

I believe it was this Kiwicon talk: https://2018.kiwicon.org/the-con/talks/#e315 but anyway, they're just standard capacitive touch switches.
I can't remember specific details but believe it was exploited by through door capactive coupling with a large sheet of tinfoil. Been known for quite a while they were quite insecure if placed close enough to a door.

And a supplementary question... who ever thought that "Trojan" would be a good name for a security company? smh

Well... it "keeps things out" like the other trojan, right?
Except this time failed.

It's a capacitive switch.
A metal stick/rod touching your hand, then touch the other end onto the exit button can trigger it.
Maybe a large enough static discharge near the device is enough.... and could be done from the other side of a glass door.
It's partly installer error if someone can touch the switch from outside the secure area or do so with a metal rod.
We have dozens of them where I work .....Wonder what our FM Dept will do about it.
