Hi Guys,

Wondering if anyone can shed any light on this trying to execute jobs via altiris to run on a client machine and it sits in executing mode for ages.
I would have expected the DAgent that is installed on the client machine to have responded to the request.

Have checked all altiris services are started on the client machine and on the job the permissions are set correctly using the right service account. The path is also correct to where the MSI installer files are.

Can you shed any advice regards to this?

Thank you

What OS are you pushing the job to? and is the timer ticking on how long the job has been running?

Windows Vista and Windows 7 jobs will sometimes stop during the install process if the installer tries to display anything other than the progress of the install. UAC can also interupt the install process.

If it is Windows 200/XP/2003 then I suspect something else is wrong and the script used to push the job has a mistake in it.

Also Deployment Console 6.9 is now at the SP2 stage so if you haven't got SP2 I would suggest downloading and installing. Deployment Console 7 is also out but money has to be paid.

cheers

Thanks for the insight browned I found out the problem being on the Vista client machine UAC was enabled so disabled this which was causing the issue. As well as I had created a new service account to be used by the job and it's working a charm! =)
