Hi Guys,

Just a bit of a reminder about the licensing limitations on Microsoft Home and Student 2007.

As you might have noticed alot of retail shops are selling these retail packages for around $99 - $120, seems like a great deal.

And it is IF you are using it at home for home use only.

The problem is anyone can buy this software and use it for whatever they want (business), there are no checks like there were with Student and Teacher edition 2003.

I'm sure most of you who read this forum are already aware of this, but for those who might be thinking about onselling a copy to a business (non profit or not) that you will be leaving that person unlicensed in Microsoft's eyes. Further more you are risking your current Microsoft qualifications and future qualifications.

Quote from the MSDN blogs http://blogs.msdn.com/mssmallbiz/archive/2008/12/01/9160762.aspx) :

"In the licensing terms, you will find the following listed under INSTALLATION AND USE RIGHTS under section a. It says:
“Licensed Device. You may install one copy of the software on three licensed devices in your household for use by people who reside there. The software is not licensed for use in any commercial, non-profit, or revenue generating business activities.”"
