Hi guys,

I have come across a deal for an HP Proliant DL140 Rack Server. Specs are:

HP ProLiant DL140 Dual Xeon 3.06GHz 2GB 80GB 1U Server w/Video & Dual GbLAN
No operating system
Manufacturer Refurbished by HP - 1 Year Hardware Warranty
$499.99 inc. GST

I'm not up to speed with marketplace costings on this sort of stuff, but would appreciate it if anyone can point me in the right direction of whether or not this is a good deal.

Thanks

The DL140 is one of HP's entry level rack servers that has now been discontinued. $499 sounds like a good deal, especially as it has a 1 year warranty.

Sure is :)

I got an early "heads up" but wanted to check to see if it was a good deal

Shame it maxes out at 4GB Ram.

I can't find your exact model on trademe, but look at this search:

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/SearchResults.aspx?&searchType=0002-0364-0209-&searchString=HP+ProLi...

that will let you get a good feel for yourself as to if it is good value, as you can compare with a lot of other very similar machines

would depend what you want it for, there's no disk redundancy but that might not matter too much depending on the application
