I've got a Dell power edge 1950 1u server runng a application which is based on redhat 3. The server has 6 NICs, two onboard and two dual port ethernet adapters which all seem to work.

Whenever I start a particular script / daemon the server will crash and actually reboot itself right on queue. I've re-installed the OS over the iDRAC however the same crash occurs without fail each time. The bizarre thing is that this was working fine last week, then suddenly stopped.

I don't have physical access to the server so only have SSH or iDRAC and there are no errors on boot and no logs to sugest whats causing the crash.

Based on what is happening do you think I should test for a memory issue or get dell to start replacing parts as its uner warranty?

thanks,

Does the script/daemon access the network? If so, any specific ports or random? Could you disabled all those ethernet cards and enable one at a time to see if it happens?

Yes the daemon would be making use of all the network cards , I'll disable the ones I can without killing ssh access and give it a try.
