I'm need some advice about our 2Mbps HNSN (SHDSL) connection vs. ADSL2+, the 2Mbps HNSN is 2Mbps download/upload but is very expensive compared to normal ADSL2+ which has a much higher download & lower download. Is there a type of connection or ISP that can offer better upload without the premium price?

I also need to get a business grade wireless router & firewall for a network of Mac users, will a wireless router with a built-in SPI firewall be suitable compared to the expense of a complicated hardware firewall? I think our ISP disabled the firewall in the managed Thomson ST605 DSL router.

I was hoping for ADSL2+ download with 1Mbps upload and a quality wireless router with firewall that can support 5-6 wireless users, there iPhones & wireless printing. I have a Ingram Micro account but no corporate budget.

Telecom will not allow ISPs to provision any higher upload speeds on their network despite it being proven to work ok in other countries. I dont know if bonding the connections got anywhere here

Where abouts are you and how much are you willing to pay? HSNS is really expensive for what it is TBH, Telecom wholesale have a monopoly with it in many areas so can get away with the pricing.

Also be aware that ADSL2+ won't offer you the same SLA level as HSNS so if something breaks you may be stuck. There are many options other than ADSL2+ that are heaps cheaper than HSNS and offer better uploads and decent SLAs in many areas, it all depends where you are as to what we recommend.
