Hi There!

One of my long term and valued staff is leaving at the end of the week. I wanted to do something that would show my appreciation for his hard work and loyalty for the last 4+ years, but am not sure what to get him.

I was going to get him a kindle but he didn't seem keen. I don't want to go over the top but I would be happy to get him something good.

Anyone got any bright ideas?

I had thought maybe a nice pen with an engraving or something...

How about something like this:

I've been given pens before, and they typically end up in a drawer and forgotten about. Give him an experience like the above and he'll never forget! I know which I would prefer anyway!!

Cant go wrong with a Iphone/Ipad if they dont already have 1? Plus you can classify it as a business expense.

Depends whether you are prepared to spend that much?

When I left Unleash I got a new laptop (since mine was at the repairers, which was EQ damaged) - I was very stoked! But in general terms I wouldn't recommend getting technology since it could be outdated / forgotten about in a few years time.

Maybe just a staff signed card with Vouchers to a mall in it? That way he has the flexibility to buy what he wants and will have the card to remember you guys by.

michaelmurfy: I wasn't aware you had left, that's a shame, you were excellent to deal with.

+1 to the iPhone. I left my job of over 6 years on Saturday and was given an iPhone as a leaving gift, along with a nice leaving party, almost made me regret leaving...  Than again mm makes a good point, something with staying value has appeal.

Yes unfortunately I tried to keep him but it was too late.

Iphone is more than I wanted to spend and I am not sure if it's what he would want anyway.

The Hampton downs thing looks good.

Yeah I wouldn't recommend buying Apple Products. Since next year it would be outdated and also they are very overpriced.

Hampton Downs is awesome, it's a experience he will remember if he is into that sort of thing.
