And they are the consumer for quite a lot of stuff, for example, paper. Also, there is a compliance cost associated with passing on the GST to the consumer.

All of which they probably claim back on the little tax that they pay! lol.

Well, when they're that good at wiggling out of costs, I'm confident they'll manage this time too.

How do they manage to do that?

An alternative view......

Once all the 'big boys' take away their bats and balls, they will leave a playground full of New Zealand developers with a whole new niche to fill.....

Would a developer not develop their own tools?

Nah, you've got to start with the hardware. Intel's a US company. :-D

Just pointing out this is in relation to the TICS bill, which (while it relates to the GCSB) is actually separate from the GCSB bill.

I see Mr Dotcom has added his name to that list, frankly I might bugger off to Iceland myself if this level of intrusion is to be continued.
I'm surprised John Key suggested at the GCSB bIll Hearings that "businesses can use encryption" Yet the govt can easily crack this encryption. I wonder what is worse, the concept of misleading businesses all over NZ into thinking their communications are not recorded, or the removal of commercial sensitivity.
