Ive got a Samsung Mini GT-S5570 smart phone. Happy with it tho I need to recharge the battery every two/three days. i have had the phone since 23 August 2013.
I have turned off/adjusted all obvious stuff to get better battery life. Still not lasting tho.
I have found some other possibilities that may be "chewing up" power. I wonder whether I can turn them off and obtain better battery performance. I wish to know what are the impacts if i do make changes.
I use the phone for calls, texts, gmail (sometimes), reminders (appointments etc), taking photos then sending them on attached to txt or gmail. Don't use or really need the other features - I have a tablet for internet access etc whilst out and about and travel - using (mostly) free wi-fi spots.
Items I think i can stop/disable/turnoff that I wish to know about are these, all in Settings/Applications/Running Services. In each case there are counters that i can see running, clocking up hours, minutes and seconds (i think). They are:-
1. Google Services
2. DRM Content
3. Software Update
4. Google Services
5. Google Play Store
6. Maps
7. Samsung Keypad
8. SNS Service
1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7 are running 1 process and 1 service.
4 is running 2 processes and 2 services
8 is running (or not?) 0 process and 1 "service restarting..." and has no counter
My battery use is 49% for call standby, 39% for phone idle and 13% for display.
In each case 1 to 8 i see the option to stop the running services. But ..... what will that do to my phone and how will that affect the manner in which I use my phone. Can I safely just "Stop" all the above running services (except, maybe No 7.) and have no affect on my phone use but achieve much longer battery life?
All help and advice appreciated.
