Asking on behalf of a friend, I'm on the lookout for a durable android phone (primarily for farm use). Water resistance would be nice, and something that is not going to die from being dropped. 5" max screen size.

Doesn't need to be top of the line, but something at least semi decent. This is replacing an Asus Zenfone 5 for reference.

I've been told $300, and I've said that's not going to happen, try $400. So far the only thing I've found is a Galaxy Xcover 4, which while on the lower end spec wise, does fit the bill pretty well.

Does anyone have any recommendations? Thank you.

This post here mentions this site, which may be of use for a durable phone. Price may be an issue!

In that price range, either the Xcover, or a better phone and a really good otterbox or lifeproof case.

Take a look at the CAT phones as an alternative to the Xcover.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I had definitely seen the Cat phones, unfortunately they are a little out of the budget in this case.

I think the Xcover is probably the best option in this case.

I don't know why people find it difficult to look after their phones. Not one of mine has been smashed.

Just letting you know my friend bought an Xcover 4 and is happy with it. I think for the price it's a pretty solid option.
