I have had several Nexus and Pixel devices and intend to update to a Pixel 10 Pro XL when released.

Other than my current Pixel 8 Pro, which I bought while in Ireland, all of my previous Google phones were purchased online from sites such as Big Apple Buddy.

When I recently searched for "will Pixel 10s be sold in New Zealand" I was directed to the Google Store and when logged in and subscribed I have a message saying

"You're subscribed! Check your inbox on August 20"

and "02 Days 14 Hrs 38 Mins 41 Secs until you meet your future phone"

Can this be true?

On the NZ store I see the usual NZ prices and limited NZ options. I'm guessing you might have hit the US or AU store. Do you have a link to that page?

Pixel is available in Australia for a long time now. There's no reason to expect it will be available in NZ this time. Imo it would have leaked weeks ago if that was the case.

I picked up a Pixel 9 Pro from Australia last year on a trip to Melbourne. Claimed 10% GST refund from AU on my way back home. Can recommend the Pixel 9 Pro (right size for me), works perfectly on Spark, Kogan/Mighty Mobile (sim and eSIM) and 2Degrees (sim and eSIM) network with HD calling and Wi-Fi calling too.

Some features like emergency calling, fall detection (pixel watch 3 45mm), call screening, 1 yr free Gemini pro, DO NOT work in New Zealand due to lack of operator/Google support.

Good battery life and call quality. No complaints. And buying from AU gives you 2 years warranty - but you will have to send it to AU for repairs/warranty claims.

Pixel 10 pro 512gb is $2047 with $300 gift card that you can use here at jb hi fi so it works out $1747 total? I am very tempted and haven’t bought a phone since iPhone 12pro. I kinda wanted to see what the iphone 17 pro brings to the table as well but this is very tempting lol

You can't use JB Au gift card in NZ, it says it very clearly on their website.

I live in Melbourne so that does work for me. Although Vodafone are giving free ps5 when you pre-order pixel 10. Hard to decide where to get one and i am kinda of trying to hold until reviews are out.

I got my Pixel 8 from JBHifi in Australia via a reshipper. When it failed it would've had to go back to Australia to be repaired, but i'd have had to ship it to a person, get them to send it in, get it back to them, then have it sent to me. Shipping each way is about $100 due to the lithium battery. I was lucky JBHifi NZ decided to refund me the purchase price as the problem with the phone was acknowledged by Google.

I'd had Pixels for years, 4 and 8, but I bought a Samsung as they can be purchased and repaired easily in NZ. It's much faster, cooler charging, the only thing I miss is enhanced voice typing in Google Keyboard. So my recommendation for kiwis is to buy a Samsung unless it's so important to them to have a Pixel that they're willing to spend $200+ on shipping and wait maybe 3-6 weeks if it needs to be repaired in future.

A very long time ago I and a family member bought a couple of the pixel 3a via the NZ Dick Smith website and the price, delivery to Auckland address etc was perfect.
Transpires that Dick Smith (AU) parallel imported them from Canada on sold them to us in NZ factory sealed. Other friends copied my method and we are all still using them with no problems.
Now with the 3g and Volte issue meaning we have to dump these phones, we are all planning to repeat the purchase for the pixel 10 5g maybe go for the 256gb.
I believe Kogan bought Dick Smith and also recently Mighty Ape.
I'm looking at the Dick smith NZ website as I type this and see its NZ$, free shipping if you join some 'club' and includes gst $1599 and covered by Dick Smith Warranty (will have to read the fine print) and study the offer more. At least the International pixel 10 versions have a sim slot + esim whereas US versions being only esim are upsetting our US pals.
Past good buying experience, brand loyalty etc....and I do like the google phone so will make a decision next month.

Pixels are great but as Timmay says it is a pain to obtain warranty repairs in NZ. With Dick Smith either you or they will send it back to the origin country of purchase so be prepared for a long wait.
