Just updated Nexus 1 from 2.2 to 2.2.1 successfully. Performed it manually using:

Not sure yet - I was wondering whether it might just be in anticipation of new languages, however there are reports of speed increases. It should be rolled out in the next few days if you're not keen on the manual update process (but it is super easy).

did you get your one from vodafone ?

it seems people that got a nexus from vodafone AU and UK are having problems updating

I just got the notification while I was reading this post. It was from Google since I bought the phone directly from Google, had it on VF for about 10 months and have just moved it to 2D.

ok mine is vodafone so guess i have to wait longer as manually update does not work :(

just reading that people in vodafone UK and AU also have the same problems, dam i want my wifi fix lol

yep people with a mac address starting with 38: have wifi drop when screen turns off even when its set to "never"
Wifi drops and start using 3g data, its just a new driver and a fix to the 1 click root

I just got this update automatically on my 850 MHz N1 (direct from Google). As a side note, how do you turn automatic updates off? It downloaded without asking and I've exceeded my data cap for the month. It's only 4 MB but imagine if it was a big one!

I hadn't realised it downloaded it in the background. I thought you got a notification that it was there, clicked OK and it then downloaded it. Then since my phone is on wifi a lot I don't really worry about automatic downloads.

As an aside, after installing 2.2.1 I found Swype didn't work. Said the version was for a different phone. I had to remove it and install it again after it worked fine.

ok just and update, people that got there phones via vodafone will not have the update until vodafone "ok's" it to roll out, vodafone will say "its google" but its vodafone UK that says when they get rolled.

I spent most of my time yesterday reading up on how to remove this vodafone firmware and flashing the "standard" google one, ended up, unlocking the boot loader, fast boot to downgrade firmware then bringing it back up to 2.2 (frf91) as soon as i rebooted into 2.2 within 2 mins i had a "system update" to apply (2.2.1).

So yes, if you get it from any vodafone (AU/NZ/UK etc) then you need to wait for vodafone to OK it, and this comes from vodafone group/uk to do.

And they are not at all fast at releasing the OK.

Please may you post link / instructions to the process to remove the Flag. I got my Nexus One from a Parallel importer and am unsure who's flag will be on it. I would relaly like to upgrade to sort the Wifi Issue.
