jeffnz: it should work, did you uncheck auto reboot and manually switch off phone then into download and reflash and reboot?

sorry its the only thing that springs to mind

Yeap. No worries. Thanks for your assistance. Just finding this bizzare though as I've never come across this before.

from what I have read it maybe because that Odin hasn't finished flashing modem before it starts to reset which starts because the "auto reboot"is ticked. I haven't tried it but will next time and untick reboot  and see what happens.

Success.

- I removed all the Samsung drivers and installed them again.
- Flashed the ML6 modem via Odin 3.09
- Only flashed once and it was successful
- Connecting to 3G perfectly fine for now
- Will test 4G when I'm in range next

Thanks again.

No didn't untick Auto Reboot and it worked first time. Sadly still no 4G even in Auckland City. Not sure what's going. I feel like I've hijacked this thread though! What's the Omega ROM like in terms of performance? Seems to have some nice features/tweaks.

Is your APN set to 'vodafone'? If memory serves, AOSP builds still automatically configure with an old APN, which will connect to 3G but not 4G.

Thanks. Yes it's set to: VFNZ Internet (www.vodafone.net.nz)

That'll likely be the issue. Change it to just vodafone & give 4G a crack.

Good to know that AOSP is still automatically configuring with the old APN, might see if we can approach the CM guys to get that fixed there. :)

NA1 kitkat Sammy leak is around and both Omega and Echoe have released a version so won't be long now. I may download tomorrow but usual leaks have bugs hence the leak.

Although the AOSP kitkat roms are very fast I miss the Samsung TW Roms so looking forward to what comes out in next couple of weeks before official.

After using the MotoG I appreciate TouchWiz a little more - the shortcuts mostly, settings refinements, etc. I think I'll stay with it, but definitely with a de-Knox'd ROM like Echoe.

The MotoG got 4.4 last night. It's much the same as 4.3. I'm still on 4.2.2 so I'm hoping for a bit better performance and fluidity.

Ah, with echo focusing on KK now, I've got a new favourite 4.3 ROM - Goldeneye. Seems ultra smooth and very responsive.

From reading on XDA looks a new bootloader is required if you want a fully functional KK ROM. Hopefully our friends at Samsung drop off since fresh sauce for the devs to work their magic on.

Hmmm, maybe it's time to try a GPe ROM perhaps..... I dunno, I've strangely grown accustomed to TW!
