Well, I have the device, it's pretty nice. I got black 32GB. I'd be pretty surprised if this wasn't manufactured by Huawei given the build appearance etc.

Screen is nice and bright, don't have time to do the setup or anything, but the vibration is very aggressive compared to the haptic of a Samsung Device.

Why do people want an aggressive vibration? Nice and subtle is the best.

Yes the story goes that google went to Huawei to build the pixel phones (after doing so well with the 6p) however when google told them that they could not put their brand on it Huawei backed out as they want a bigger slice of the US market and no point making the phone if they did not get their name on it.

HTC did not have an issue with no HTC branding on the device so google went with them.

Looks as though the people is Ozzy are having lots of problems ordering this phone from the Playstore as Google seems to be shipping them without charging GST and they're suddenly getting a taste of what us kiwis have been getting with our low $400 GST free limit.. AU is still A$1000 but the phones cost more that that .

Well my first day with it partially setup and I have to say, I am impressed. Says a lot about the device in my opinion that after 50+ flagships I've owned, that devices can still impress me. It's super quick, noticeably faster, than my Note 5 which I am still using as my daily driver.

Not used to lack of Physical button, or lack of S-Pen. It has a number of nice things, like "trusted voice" so you can unlock the phone like that, the vibration is pretty good after initially not liking it.

One thing I can't seem to do is start the data transfer wizard that was offered to me on startup. Samsung has smart switch but I can't find the google equivalent. Camera is OK, for me, the Samsung is better.

The Pixel launcher isn't my cup of tea, I'll probably stick to Nova Prime.

Overall, initially I'd give it an 8/10 deducting a point for no button and a point for no s-pen

I am no expert, but I prefer the pictures taken from my note5. It's not a big deal either way, as I don't really care that much about cameras, for me almost anything is ok. I don't know if I could put my finger on what the differences are, just a gut feeling with the pictures at first glance.

I am super surprised re buttons. It's only of the primary reasons I prefer Samsung over everything else (except IOS devices).

Cameras in all modern flagships are so good now, you'll be hard pressed to find one that really sucks, so you are probably right.

There are exhaustive reviews of this phone all over the web so I didn't bother doing the same despite being capable, plenty of pictures already, just thought I'd post my impressions as a Kiwi Gadget fan.

I haven't fully migrated my data across mostly because I am busy last few days, but overall I think it's a really nice device. I think the LG v20 will ultimately win my pocket when it's released. I see SDCard a fairly important thing.

Of 28GB available space on the device, 8GB is used before you do anything.

After a couple of years with a Xperia Z2 without a home button, the worst thing about my S7 is the physical home button. You just don't need it, period.

Will be interested if you still miss the home button after a few more weeks of living without it.

As mentioned earlier, I have owned well over 100 phones, most of them Android, of which 50+ would have been various brands of Flagships, and I can tell you, without doubt, I will miss it.
