There's been some chat already, but this may be easier to find.

Shame that it says "unavailable".

I see they are offering a VR kit for those that preorder - nice.

Shame it says nothing about waterproofing - I'm hoping they sort of are, even if they don't advertise it.

I skipped through the presentation. Hopefully we get some love soon. JB-Hifi was mentioned as a source for Australia I guess. Possibly here.

No tablet :-(

Ouch, Google is going apple expensive.

We'll need some info on the channels. Hopefully the 5 inch has 4G on 700Mhz this time.

Yes but they are "not" apple, one expects it from the iphone lines now, however this is a new line of phone from google and if they want people to get "hooked" in they should have had the very top price of $650US (5.5, 128gb).   Not as a starting point.

They have just priced me out of getting one (also a little hard when they release to 5 countries).  I am the guy that buys 3 or 4 phones a year and even I can't justify the price they are asking.

There is nothing with the Pixel that gives me the urge to buy.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

And that's the problem.  Don't get me wrong, I like android etc but the phone is ugly (which i could live with) and very over priced.  You can get way better phones for that same or less.

I have a Galaxy S7 Edge and I feel without handling or reviewing the Pixel the Galaxy is a superior device. I don't think the Pixel is ugly it's just a Pixel, on looks it's like just another Android phone, nothing special.

Software and interactivity maybe a different story and that will be interesting. A case of wait final judgement until it's in the hand.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

The network compatibility is impressive. I might get one just for that reason. Especially between North America and NZ with all the different flavours of LTE.

Was in a JB Hifi store in Auckland  last week and they were still selling the Nexus 6P for $1199  so don't hold much out for sharp pricing on the Pixel from them..

They have lost their edge a wee bit. Going the DSE Way perhaps.....

PB Tech? They have the Nexus 6P with 32GB for NZ$698 incl GST.

Shame there doesn't seem to be any information on a New Zealand release.

I was really looking forward to finally updating my Nexus 4, but at $650US as the starting price, it is an instant no go.

Now I need to take a look at all the other offerings out there to see what else is around that is as close to stock android as possible.

I was so thinking of going out today and get a nexus 6p but looking over the specs etc it's a bit of a step down from the oneplus 3 I currently have.

The only real advantage the Nexus has over the OnePlus 3 is early updates.

And that is why i want it, getting updates is high on my list of "must have" in a phone.

Might just go back to an iphone as those get updates a few times a year (even early beta's) and support is for 3+ years.

The OS is butt ugly however
