Cellmapper, Sim Cell info, Signal Check to name a few.

It's very clear when CA is and isnt active in two ways without apps

1. Throughput.

2. Symbol.

Unfortunately the HiSilicon Kirin 980 isn't as drilled into as the Qualcomm counter parts where we have the likes of Network Signal Guru.

Also does not appear to have a hidden menu for this.

2. Symbol.

1. doesn't help if you have no data to test with

2. you get the little + with 2CA doesnt tell you how many others you may be connected to

1. fair enough, personally i've done upwards of 15GB speed tests this month. so I've got no problem dropping data into it.

2. You can see in the neighbouring cells list it's active, secondary etc. What the symbol does confirm is if CA is active or not. which right now is my concern not 3CA/2CA.

to answer in your terms, with B7 and B40 i get no plus at all.

Can anyone suggest a good case for this? I have the phone and it's awesome but the supplied case is no good for protection. (front and back)

The supplied case will not protect the screen at all in a fall.

There are some cases in PBTech from Spigen brand here.

I have personally ordered a few from aliexpress and await delivery.

Im on a Mate 9 and i im band 7, 28 and 3.

Havent been in auckland for a while now but i only seem to recall getting it downtown. much has probably changed in 5 months though.

As noted, it's not a tower or capacity thing.

Purely the settings within the Mate 20 Pro as far as i can tell.

I suspect I'm awaiting a bandplan upgrade to resolve the issue, just haven't had it confirmed.

Mate 9 is a 960 so the usual tools don't exactly work there :C

Pertaining to your inquiry, please take note that the Band 7 is the new band and might have compatibility issue with the new Android 9.0.

Therefore, please wait for the next updates to solve this.

Band 7 is new? lolwut. Huawei have been all about Band 7 for ages!

Good to know it's being fixed though.

Anyone noticed sometimes when unlocking with face recognition or fingerprint the phone opens an app without you touching anything?

@tripp:

Noticed on one of the reviews that the finger print scanner will not work for some apps like banking etc.  Can someone confirm this when they get it please.

Circling back to this one, i setup my bank app today.

it works without a hitch.

UI is a little weird compared to my old phone but functionally just as good (faster actually)
