Apologies for how shared. No idea if this site is ok or sucks. But I have had this issue with my A1 which I love that drives me nuts. It is super random. At the start, it was now and then if

- when up a tv channel but not if then went back down

- used twitch or youtube but not Netflix or Prime

I  video is a wow stream on Twitch the other HGTV. I have not gone into Harvey Norman to moan as I waited for the update to see if fixed it but if anything it is now worse. I was able to make go away for months by deleted some apps but it has come back since the update.

Not been up to having an CGA rant on a $7000 tv that they will say is out of warranty.

Is that freeview TV?  looks like a poor aerial signal artefact.

What is your player app and where is the source located (local or internet stream) and what type of braodband do you have and how is the TV connected to the internet etc.

Fibre, Tv via ethernet not wi-fi, every other tv in house zero issues, this tv mostly zero issues on a fresh reboot, Freeview UHF, new home with extensive IT setup

For the video with wow its a 1080p stream using Twitch app. Reboot tv and will play perfectly. Start standby may play perfect may do it. Yes stream but I can go from that (it does on YouTube as well) to Netflix and will play fine. Another day one app will do and another wont. There is no pattern.

For the video with HGTV yep thats UHF Freeview. Again sometimes will do and sometimes wont. Used to be if did it go up a channel and back down and would stop doing.

Just got off the phone with Harvey Norman who say is covered by CGA and have created ticket with Sony.

I have a 55inch x9000f connected to a Samsung HW-N850 soundbar. Generally it works fine.

However, it seems that since the TV was updated to the latest Android version available, occasionally the volume on the soundbar will get stuck (maybe after the TV has gone to sleep) so that if the volume is set to say 10, it can be increased from there and will go back down again to 10, but it won't go below 10. Restarting the TV seems to fix this.

Anyone else seen anything similar ?

Yes I have the same issue with a 55inch x9000e connected to an older Samsung soundbar. I also find the muting and un-muting sometimes fixes the issue. Also if I control the soundbar volume with it's own remote vs the TV remote over ARC it seems to work ok.

Thanks for that. Shall try the muting thing. Don't think trying the soundbars remote helped though. Still, I discovered how to reboot the tv while playing with the sound - hold the tv power button down for 4 or 5 seconds and the sound seems to be fine when it turns itself back on after that.

Somewhere, someone in Chch has my Sony A1. One day I may figure out who and when I will get it back lolz. Anyway sent the videos to Sony who had someone come out. He advised it is a rare but known issue (especially if affects Freeview as this confirms it is not app-based issue). Anyway said they will replace the board and return. Still waiting on that sigh.

Edit - Seems it is proving hard to fix. New display panel and new motherboard and still not right. Discussion has gone back to Sony for ideas.

@cb1 asked to unlock this thread. On that note, updated in-laws' Sony A1 a couple of weekends ago with an update January 2020.

Mine passes the network check but says it can’t reach the update server.
Still running back in May 2019 I think.

When Checking for an update....”you are up to date”.

So I’m hopeful this latest update may be pushed out soon?!?

I manually downloaded the update from the link above to a pc and after unzipping the file copied it to a usb drive. When the usb drive is connected to the tv it detects the update and starts to update automatically.
