lchiu7:

I am now thinking of getting one of these phones having seen the Pixel 4 announcements and nothing really exciting me there.

The lack of wireless charging is a minor annoyance. But since it charges so quickly it's probably not an issue.

But just wondering have people looked at the leaked new of the Oneplus 7T and it appears to have wireless charging and think that might be a better option (depends on price of course)

If you're interested in a 7 Pro, I'm looking to sell mine as I've switched back to iOS.

One of the main issues I see reported about the phone is the camera or the camera app. I see that the pixel camera has been ported to run on the OnePlus phones. Has anybody tried that out and noticed any increase in the quality with the different camera?

I’ve used a few different gcam apks, there is a difference but it’s usually down to contrast being a tad different, night mode is better on google but the oneplus night mode is better than when the phone originally came out.

Just saw the 7T announcement. Looks like the screen is not as hi-res as the 7T, has a faster charger, a macro camera mode that has hardware support so is not available in the 7 Pro.

No popup selfie camera and so now a waterdrop notch. Slightly faster with the Qualcomm 855+.

No wireless charging ( :-( ) but cheaper.

It's smaller so I think I will wait for it to come out and I handle each in person to see which one I like in terms of handling. The 7 Pro is quite large.

I have a OnePlus 7 Pro and am really happy with it apart from the curved glass. So nice to see that the 7T drops that. But dropping the popup camera for my taste is wrong. I use the front camera once in a blue moon so not having a teardrop is a much better solution.

Also i have installed Android 10 and it works just fine. Only issue I have is it doesn't want to run Threema but that's their problem.

Also, don't but the OnePlus headphones. Buy Syllable S-101's on AliExpress. 1/3rd the price and WAY better sound and a lot more portable. I have had both. They work with Oneplus like a charm since they have the Qualcom 3020 chip in them (note there are similarly looking ones that don't!!). Having a Qualcom chip means AptX and BT 5.0...

Cheers

Oliver

Looks great to me, but it doesn't look much smaller in all the review videos I've seen comparing it and putting it next to the 7 Pro. Thankfully it's got a flat screen! I loved my time with the 7 Pro but I couldn't ever seem to get into curved screens at all. Battery life looks to be around the same as the 7 Pro but Warp Charge solves that problem easily.

I don't think OnePlus will put wireless charging into their phones unless it does it close to or as fast as Dash/Warp Charge. The lack of wireless charging seems to be a trend all along the BBK siblings (Vivo, RealMe, Oppo) and I've read some news about it coming in the future for Vivo, so maybe in a future OP8/9?

I'll probably get the 7Pro. I was holding off thinking itmight have wireless charging but apparently OnePlus don't do that. As for headphones I currently use Jabra 65t elite Bluetooth phones which are really good.

NikT, if I were to pop into a  PB Tech would it be possible to buy the UK 30W Charger outright? Already have the travel adaptor.

Does anybody have any information on whether PBTech will be getting the 7T and is there an ETA?

Yes i have it, you can get it by using oxygen update on the play store.  With the release of the hotfix it has fixed a number of issues (10.0.1).

Been running the hot fix for a few days and everything seems fine on mine
