Batman: Dumb question.

My understanding is - buying Snapdragon phone - it won't work here in nz?

Depends on how much functionality you want to work?

making phone calls / sending SMS will def work via 3G

4G *should* work as most flagship devices sold overseas have B28

5G may work

But you're unlikely to get functional VoLTE/VoWiFi

@tanivula @BatMan Band 8 900Mhz LTE is growing very fast in New Zealand, VodafoneNZ and 2degrees are cranking this out

@Sbiddle will also confirm this

@Batman Maybe VoLTE ' might ' work

I am sure we have covered this before with you on imported devices, Do not purchase imported devices if you want network features like VoLTE and Voice over Wi-Fi to work it is not worth it

My imported Galaxy S10 (Snapdragon 855) supports all the NZ 4G bands, as well as VoLTE.  Would be surprised if the S21 SD-variant was any different.

Is it really a big deal? The Exynos version seems to perform just fine as far as I can can tell in the time I've had the S21 Ultra. The only thing I've noticed is that 8K recording is a bit choppy on the screen when recording. Also remember it's the version that Samsung sells in its home territory as well so they are hardly going to let it be a lemon.

@Batman the 2100 chip is meant to be very good so not sure why you are worried about getting a SD chip

I can assure you the pictures are quite stunning on the version we get here. Enough that I've started selling off all but one of my old SLR lenses.

I sold my DSLR stuff when I got the Huawei P 30 pro. Never regretted it. Always in the pocket.

my next step is the Samsung S21 Ultra. Had Samsung Notes before the Huawei BTW

Waiting for something from Samsung about the beans (with my plain s21) also. I guessed IMEI from the e-receipt I got with postage (which worked) but haven't seen nor heard apart from the initial email (on the 26th of Jan).
